TIPS AND TRICKS

HELLO FOLKS............

These fish are a few that came from our fish count out here in

Round Rock, Texas on 04/05/2005

Official Statement from TPWD:

Meadow Lake continues to have an outstanding largemouth bass population.  Of the 76 bass we caught in 30 minutes of electro-fishing (152/hour) 64 exceeded 14 inches and 8 exceeded 21 inches.  This small reservoir continues to have one of the best bass populations in Central Texas .  Numbers were similar to surveys in 2003 and 2001; 2003 total catch = 82 bass in 30 minutes (164 bass per hour) of which 69 exceeded 14 inches and 4 exceeded 21 inches; 2001 total catch = 93 bass in 45 minutes (124/hour), of which 53 exceeded 14 inches and 7 exceeded 21 inches.  The 2005 survey was much better than in 2004 when muddy water decreased our electro-fishing efficiency and electro-fishing catch (total catch rate = 70/hour).  Sizes of bass caught among the four surveys were similar.  The bass have above average body condition indicating forage is adequate. Forage consisted of bluegill, green sunfish, threadfin shad, gizzard shad and inland silversides.  Some of the redear sunfish exceeded 6 inches and could be specifically targeted by anglers.
